Buford Franklin Putman, Jr., age 83, passed from this life on September 21, 2022.
He is survived by his faithful wife of 58 years, Peggy Bass Putman. He is also survived by his daughter, Trena (Phillip) Brimm, and his son, Tony (Laurie) Putman. Nothing brought him more joy than his family, and he dedicated his entire life to making their lives better.
Buford was Poppa/Poppy to five grandchildren: Derek (Katy) Brimm, Dana (Nick) Spoonmore, Dawn (Chris) Brimm-Leonard, Chandler (Anthony) Brais, and Riley Putman. His favorite pastime was spoiling them and his four great-grandchildren: Alexis Brimm, Landon Brimm, Harvey Leonard, and Cal Leonard. He is also survived by his brother Bobby (Patsy) Putman, sisters Linda (Roy) Herndon and Sue Cantrell, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Buford was born on February 4, 1939, to the late Buford and Gladys Putman in Nashville, Tennessee. Following his graduation from North High School, he attended MTSU before following in his father's footsteps to become an electrician. He was a part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and retired from Ford Glass Company. He was a faithful member of the Jackson Park Church of Christ for 46 years and the Hendersonville Church of Christ for the past seven years.
Buford could always be counted on for a spirited grin, encouraging word, blunt advice, depth of knowledge, and steady hand to help with literally any project. He spoke truthfully, served tirelessly, gave generously, and loved fiercely. While he leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, they are comforted by the knowledge that he is finally at rest with his Father in Heaven awaiting a joyous family reunion.
A visitation and service was held on Sunday, September 26, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Goodlettsville. Interment took place in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
